Our highest priority is insuring that children are safe at school.

This speaks to their physical safety and also to how children feel about themselves, how they approach new environments, new situations and people and how comfortable they are meeting challenges and facing new opportunities. To be comfortable enough to take on challenges, new ideas and a variety of perspectives, children must feel good about who they are and know that the environment they are in is safe to take chances, safe enough to try, and safe enough to have a soft place to fall if they do. We do this by respecting the rights and needs of the individual child while slowly shepherding them into a community of their peers.
