We’re excited to announce our 2026 Purim Shpiel: Shushan Playhouse – The Improv Theatre Worksop
Play the role of your favorite matriarch or patriarch from the Torah as we imagine how they would hone their acting and improvisation skills at the Shushan Community Playhouse. Join us for this playful, fast-moving, and a little over the top shpiel that will be fully scripted and written by Cantor Yager. No improv experience required, and no on-the-spot improvising.
We’re looking for congregants who want to participate onstage and help bring the story to life.
Performers (actors of all comfort levels) ♦ Singers ♦ Musicians ♦ Creative collaborators
This is an amateur production in the best sense: welcoming, supportive, and designed for fun — not perfection.
Important:
Participation requires availability for rehearsals on Thursday, February 26 at 6:30 pm and Sunday, March 1 at 1 pm (locations tbd). Because this is a scripted production, commitment to rehearsals will be important.
If you’re interested and want more details, please fill out this short form.
