Admission Process & Timeline
Step One
September, October, November
The application process begins with the tour, and for that reason, tours are required before applying. Tours typically take place throughout October and November and we begin scheduling at the end of August.
Step Two
December
Once you have toured the school and have decided to continue with the admission process, an application will be made available.
Please submit your application along with a $75 application fee before December 1st.
Step Three
December, January
In December we will schedule your child for a play-date, which will take place in January.
Step Four
Late February
Admissions notifications will be emailed.
FAQs
General Information
- Children must be 2 years old or older by September 1 to attend.
- Synagogue membership is not required to apply or to be accepted. If you choose Brotherhood, membership in the synagogue is a requirement.
- We observe Jewish holidays with our children; however, we welcome children from diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds.
Admissions
- A one-hour small-group tour should be scheduled to learn about our community, hear an overview of our programs, and meet our director. If, after touring, you would like to continue the admissions process, an application will be emailed to you. Tours are held on Mondays and Wednesdays in the fall at 10 AM.
- Tours are for adults only.
Play Sessions
In December, we will contact you with a date for you to bring your child to school for a 20-minute visit. Your child will be joined by other applicants in a group play session with members of our staff. We ask that one parent accompany the child to this appointment.
Decisions
As required by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) all decisions will be emailed by dates set by ISAAGNY. This is usually at the end of February.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for families is available. Financial assistance awards are based on demonstrated need and available funds. Please reach out to the nursery assistant to request an application.
