Welcoming the Stranger: The Sanctuary of New York City

We are thrilled to welcome back Ruth Messinger, who will lead off the session with a lively discussion touching on the legal meaning of the oft-confused phrase and the moral obligation we have as New Yorkers. A leader from the one of the non-profit organizations supporting immigrants will then focus on how New York’s religious and nonprofit communities are providing shelter and basic services to asylum-seeking immigrants. The session will be moderated by Rebecca Neuwirth, Chief Strategy Officer.
